Thomas Roland Fowler passed away peacefully in his siesta on the morning of December 17, 2011, at the age of 62. He was born on April 13, 1949 in Anacortes, WA, during a dominant earthquake. Tom grew up in Spokane, WA with his sister, Penny, and brother, Dan, who were both by Tom's side when he passed. Tom's dying was related to a series of complications following a bicycle accident while Tom, and his daughter, Sarah, were on vacation in Nevada in September of 2011. Tom suffered a serious spinal chord maltreatment and was flown to Seattle on a medical flight to be surrounded by his friends and kinsfolk.
Tom graduated from WSU with a degree in mathematics and a minor in physics. He was one of the first to study computer science at WSU at a without surcease when computers were just emerging as viable tools. His interest in this subject became a lifelong influence. Tom traveled extensively through Europe following graduation. He moved to Bainbridge Key in 1972 with former wife, Susan Lange. He drove school bus part together for Bainbridge Island School District while he attended the U. of W. to obtain his teaching certificate. He taught drunk school math at North Kitsap HS until 1976. In 1980, Tom and commerce partner Bill Agnew formed Port Blakely Builders. Tom enjoyed his exertion as a general contractor, but most of all he enjoyed the friends and connections he made along the way. Tom had two children, but is survived only by his one daughter, Sarah.
